Biography of Ann Fabe Isaacs

Ann Fabe Isaacs was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. She received a BA in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, and M.Ed. from Xavier University in Counseling and Guidance, and completed Ph.D. work at Ohio State University in Counseling and Guidance, Psychology and School Administration. Her work in a preschool in the 1940s and 1950s, led to her interests in gifted and talented children. In 1954, she founded the National Association for Gifted Children and in 1974 founded the National Association for Creative Children and Adults. Isaacs authored more than 250 articles in educational and psychological journals and book chapters and published and edited Gifted Child Quarterly (1957-1975) and Creative Child and Adult Quarterly (1976-1985). Isaacs served as a consultant, guest lecturer and workshop director. Isaacs was also an artist and composer. Ann Iaascs was married to S. Ted Isaacs, and had two daughters, Marjorie and Susan. Isaacs passed away in February 2001.
