History of First German Baptist Church (Deutsche Baptisten-Kirche)
The First German Baptist Church was founded in Cincinnati in 1857. A church building, located at the corner of Walnut and Corwine Streets, was completed in 1872. Due to it's location, the church became known as the Walnut Street Baptist Church. The first pastor was Philip W. Bickel.
